What you should budget for

If you have read this far then you are probably interested. So I can tell you that we have priced this way to allow you to compare like for like with other similar offerings. In fact many will set out pricing as above, but we believe in a “no surprises” approach and in being transparent as to what is involved from the get go.

You will need to budget for the full cost of the trip so here is an estimate of all of the costs you will need to plan for.

Cost of insurance and visa as well as drinks on the trek and food at Moshi will vary depending on your own circumstances and preferences, likely to work out around €150 for insurance and visa and €200 for food and drinks. Tipping of the local trekking company is expected, you should budget €150 for tips.

You will also need to be physically fit and mentally prepared for the undertaking. By the time we set out on the trip you should be able to walk for several days back-to-back, and also should be prepared for walking on steep ground for prolonged periods. To help you to prepare and to allow us all to get to know each other before we set out we provide two days of briefing/preparation, date(s) and venue(s) to be decided in conjunction with the group. We have included the cost of this face time with us in our price. Depending on the venue you may wish to allow for your preferred choice of accommodation for that. The two days will enable us to assist you in setting out your own personal preparation plan. After that, if you require and wish it we can provide other tailored activities to help you to get prepared.

Our expeditions are handled by Platinum Travel. They are a bonded travel agent with many years of experience in the travel business and specialising in tailor made and bespoke tours worldwide.
